General Information

What

We prepare and package food, car pool to downtown Cleveland. When we arrive downtown we pray, setup tables and distribute food, and at times, clothing. We spend time forming relationships and building trust with the people we meet so that we can share the hope and encouragement that comes from the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Who

Care On The Square is completely volunteer based. Our volunteers have a heart for the homeless and a desire to follow God's word.
"But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him?" - 1 John 3:17 ESV

When

We minister every Saturday except for the second Saturday of each month.  Food preparation starts at 9:30 at Cuyahoga Valley Church (CVC) and lasts until approximately 11:30.  For those heading downtown we ask that you be at CVC by 11:30am.  We arrive downtown around noon and are usually back at the church by 2:00pm.

Where

We have made arrangements with the City of Cleveland, MHS (Mental Health Services) and NEOCH (Northeast Ohio Coalition for the Homeless) to minister at the MHS building at 1744 Payne Ave on the east side of downtown Cleveland.  We typically setup in the buildings parking lot.  The entrance for the parking lot is off of East 18th Street.  Directions and maps to this location are located under the resources menu item.

Why

"If you pour yourself out for the hungry and satisfy the desire of the afflicted, then shall your light rise in the darkness and your gloom be as the noonday." - Isaiah 58:10 ESV
