There
are many causes of poverty and homelessness, but the fruit of it is
despair.
Care on the Square exists to minister to those living in
despair on the streets of our local community. We show them
God’s love by providing clothes, coats, shoes, and of course food, but
most importantly, friendship. Through this ministry, we have seen many lives changed for the better.
The need is great, and close to
home...
Cleveland has been rated
the poorest large city in the nation. This, along with increases in
addiction and mental health issues, has resulted in many people being
broken, homeless and not knowing where to turn. These broken people are
struggling to survive without food and appropriate clothing. In addition
to having their physical needs met, they long to feel that they are
loved and respected. Most of them feel they have nowhere to turn and no
way out. Amazingly, this is not a description of a far away country; it
is right here in our own backyard.
